What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. It lets the site remember something about your visit: the language you chose, the fact that you are logged in, or the pages you looked at. Some cookies are needed for the site to work at all. Others are only there to help us understand how the site is used, or to measure our advertising.
Your choice
When you arrive on this site, a banner asks you to accept all cookies or to keep only the essential ones. Only the essential cookies are placed before you answer. If you choose Only essentials, no analytics or advertising cookie is placed at all.
You can change your mind at any time: the button at the bottom right of this page reopens the banner, and you can also delete the cookies of this site in your browser.
The cookies this site uses
| Category | What it is for | Cookies | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | Keep your session, remember your answer to the cookie banner, and let the pages work. The site does not work properly without them. | session_id, website_cookies_bar, cids, fileToken | Not required |
| Preferences | Remember the language you read the site in, your time zone and your light or dark display. | frontend_lang, tz, color_scheme | Not required |
| Audience measurement | Count visits and see which pages are read, through Google Analytics. We use it to know what interests our visitors, not to identify anyone. | _ga, _ga_P56WPGCWZG | Required |
| Advertising | Measure whether an advertisement on Google brought someone to this site, and show our advertisements to people who visited it. | _gcl_au | Required |
The last two categories are placed by Google, which acts as a third party and sets these cookies under its own policy: Google. The Google tag (gtag.js) is used to load them.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you may ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, and object to its use. Write to info@noviat.com and we will answer within a month. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels.
Managing cookies in your browser
Every browser lets you see the cookies a site has placed, delete them, or refuse them entirely. Note that refusing the essential ones will stop parts of this site from working.
