Costs and analytics
Your works department knows its annual budget. It cannot say what one building consumed.
In Ordo, hours and materials are recorded against the thing they were spent on, not only against a budget line.
So a school, a square or a district can be costed rather than estimated from memory.
A budget is not an answer
Knowing that road maintenance spent its envelope says nothing about the square that took three interventions and two inspections last year.
The question arrives when a councillor asks it, when one building has to be arbitrated against another, or when a contract is renegotiated. That is usually the moment the spreadsheets get rebuilt from memory.
Six months, by asset, in one screen
Cost by building, by type of asset, by service, by month, by week. The analysis is built by whoever asks the question rather than waiting for a report to be developed, and it exports from there.
A budget line does not have a roof. A school does.
Cost follows the work, and the work already names what it concerned.
Every hour and every material names both the service that spent it and the asset it was spent on. The same figures can then be read by department or by place, without anyone rebuilding anything at the end of the year.

Nobody in the field needs an account code
The accounting side is derived from the service the work belongs to. A team leader records hours, not budget lines.
Four hours, three of them effective
Travel and breaks are recorded separately from worked time, so the cost of a job and the time actually spent on site are both visible.
One crew, one morning, three schools
The hours are recorded once and then distributed across the three, in proportion, each resulting line keeping a link back to the single job it came from.
The same agent, booked twice
Overlapping hours on the same day are detected and flagged, with the conflicting lines opened side by side, before you confirm and again afterwards.
Cost data is not for everyone
A team member sees their own entries, a service head sees their service and everything under it. It is a matter of access rights, not of hiding a menu.
And materials, not only hours
A delivery of asphalt or a batch of parts lands on the same asset as the labour, so the cost of a job is the whole of it.
Where the figures come from
Cost is a consequence of the work, not a separate exercise.
